George On The TV

George’s caricatures have been featured on TV: Chris Moyles’ Quiz Night, Him & Her, One Show, Money Programme, Bremner Bird & Fortune. George has also appeared himself on live TV: BBC One Show, Paul O’Grady Show, ESPN, Today with Des & Mel, Chattoon, Ch4’s Coach Trip, Blue Peter and recently on Peston!
 









Spot On George has made many TV appearances over the years, starting with Vets in Practice back in 2000 where he drew Truda’s caricature. George was also interviewed on TV by several news crews (Central, BBC, Sky) regarding his caricature exhibition at the Leicester Comedy Festival earlier that year.

In February 2005 George was asked to draw live on ITV’s Paul O’Grady show, where he drew several guests on set throughout the show, including Jerry Hall, Terry Jones and of course Paul O’Grady himself. This lead to an appearance on Today with Des & Mel in November of that year, where George met Katie Melua and the charming Joe Pasquale, then drew Des O’Connor and Mel Sykes live on set. They invited George back later that month to teach them both how to draw a caricature on their show, where he met Chas & Dave, Vanessa Feltz and drew Pat Cash’s caricature too.

George’s next TV commission was in May 2007 for BBC1, when they filmed him drawing Tony Blair’s caricature for a Money Programme special about Tony Blair’s fortune. BBC then filmed George later that year for the One Show, were he had to draw Dom Littlewood in the middle of Covent Garden as a part of an Art special. This was aired in November 2007, did you see it?  September 2009 saw George on BBC’s One Show for a second appeance, this time drawing presenter Lucy Siegel to illustrate an article on ID Fraud.

2011 brought George a commission of Russell Tovey for BBC three’s comedy HIM & HER then Phil Tuffnel for the One Show again, both aired in August 2011, while George’s Paul O’Grady caricature was featured on Chris Moyles Quiz Night on Channel 4 in October 2011. Look out for it’s repeat appearances!
George brought luck to Wigan Athletic FC in May 2013, when he drew the team for an FA Cup Final promotional video, aired on ESPN on the night of the match. Wigan won the cup!

In 2014 George was filmed for Ch4 series of Coach Trip, where he judged the efforts of seven couples as they drew each others’ caricatures. In 2016 George starred on Blue Peter as he hosted a ‘caricature draw off’ by the presenters, while he draw all 3 on live TV!

Most recently George has been drawing Labour leadership candidates, for Peston (ITV).
