Digital Caricatures are ideal crowd pleasers at Exhibition stands, drawing the crowds in as I draw my caricatures on iPad or HP laptop tablet, displayed on a plasma screen. Full colour, fully interactive fun! Exhibition caricatures come with free corporate logo and are an ideal way to impress future clients. About me; I am a fully qualified (BA hons) professional freelance illustrator and entertainer. I've been drawing live caricatures since leaving DMUni in 1991 and published caricatures for TV Times since 1999. My caricatures have been seen in such weekly magazines as TV Times (1999 - 2003), Sunday Mirror, Financial News, monthly publications Square Meal, Stern.de, Today (F) and weekly caricatures online; The First Post. I have also exhibited my caricatures internationaly. Perhaps you saw my 'Mr Hoon' caricature on Bremner, Bird & Fortune? In 2002 I was the featured caricaturist at the nationwide press launch of "Harry Potter" on DVD, then the "Quidditch" World Championships, not to mention the closing party for Big Brother 3 and PJ's wedding in 2010! You may have seen me drawing caricatures live twice on BBC's One Show (2007, 2009) or the Money Programme or did you catch me drawing caricatures on ITV's Paul O'grady Show in 2005 or twice on Today with Des & Mel later that year? I also drew Ant & Dec's leaving gift from SMTV and drew caricatures at Amanda Holden's hen pyjama party in 2008, which was a blast! In 2011 I drew Russell Tovey's caricature for Him & Her (sitcom) and Phil Tufnell for BBC's One Show. Channel 4's Chris Moyles Quiz Night also used my caricature of Paul O'Grady for a its Celebrity Scribbles feature. My career highlight so far has to be meeting and drawing Tony Blair in 2003, although Paul O'Grady, Joe Pasquale, Robbie Savage, Amanda Holden, Jerry Hall, Pat Cash, Katie Melua, Des O'Connor, Mel Sykes, Terry Jones, Gryff Rhys Jones, Delia Smith, Jeff Banks, Keith Chegwin, Damon Hill, Tommy Walsh, Todd Carty, Esther Rantzen, Dom Littlewood and the cast of Harry Potter were all stars in my eyes. My favourite celeb was Ainsley Harriott in 2004... a walking caricature!
The Difference; Caricaturists are a rare breed, with many forms of artist, the main kinds are ENTERTAINERS, RETAILERS and HOBBYISTS. Caricaturist 3; The Hobbyist will charge mere pennies, then turn up in jeans and scrawl away in a corner, while learning their art at your expense. Quality means nothing to them, they have nothing to lose as they already have a full-time income, so may not turn up at all. Caricaturist 2; The Retailer will also offer a competitive quote or even charge your guests at your event. They will work hard in a corner, head down, producing the same drawing over and over, with sugar sweet features. Their aim is to flatter their client, but do not expect any banter or laughter, only queues! Caricaturist 1; The Entertainer however will charge for their time and pack those few hours with laughter and fun. Their aim is to dazzle your guests, raising a laugh or even applause, using drawing skills, whit and charm. Their drawings may be more exaggerated, but your guests will marvel at the likeness and the atmosphere is usually electric! Be sure you hire the right artist for your event.
